Job summary

Capita Fire and Rescue invites you to join a team protecting Defence bases and communities. You don’t need a traditional firefighting background; if you’re calm under pressure, eager to learn and ready to help others, this role could be for you.

You’ll complete 14 weeks of full training at the Fire Service College in Moreton-in-Marsh, with accommodation and travel covered. The salary starts at £30,954 and rises to £34,823 on full competence, plus holiday, pension and more.

Qualifications

• The right to work in the UK and ability to obtain Security Clearance.
• Good physical fitness and ability to pass fitness assessments (bleep test, ladder drills, confined space).
• Strong teamwork and ability to support others.
• Clear communication skills.
• Calm under pressure and decisive in urgent situations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and help restore safety quickly and effectively.
• Work closely with a professional emergency response team in a safety-critical environment.
• Carry out fire prevention and protection activities to reduce risk across Defence sites.
• Support safety campaigns that protect people, equipment and infrastructure.
