Job summary

Capita Fire and Rescue is recruiting as part of the UK MoD safety mission. You will train over 14 weeks at the Fire Service College and begin a rewarding firefighting career with Capita, protecting Defence sites and personnel.

This role welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and focuses on mindset, resilience, and teamwork. Successful candidates receive comprehensive training, accommodation and travel coverage, and a professional development portfolio.

Qualifications

• Good level of physical fitness; you’ll be supported to prepare for fitness assessments.
• Strong teamwork and the ability to support others.
• Clear communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain Security Clearance.
• Willingness to complete academic and behavioural assessments if required.

Responsibilities

• Responding to incidents and helping restore safety quickly and effectively.
• Working closely with a professional emergency response team in a high-performing, safety-critical environment.
• Carrying out fire prevention and protection activities to reduce risk across Defence sites.
• Supporting safety campaigns to protect people, equipment and infrastructure.
