Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Business Development Manager – Defence aligned to the NS&D Division to drive UK growth, with a base in Farnborough or Whiteley and travel as required. The role offers a salary of £75,800–£99,800 and a hybrid working pattern dependent on business needs.

You will develop and manage a UK Defence pipeline for the next 2–5 years, lead significant campaigns, win contracts >£25m, and shape differentiated client propositions with bid teams.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience of successfully selling into the UK Defence market.
• Existing client relationships in the UK MOD.
• Track record of driving business growth year on year and hitting targets.
• Experience leading contracts valued > £25m.
• Extensive knowledge of Government business development and procurement trends.
• Experience winning work on frameworks and scaling follow-on awards.
• Collaborative bid-writing with partners.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Tenacity and energy to manage multiple pursuits.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship development.
• Mentoring agile teams to grow the business.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead BD activities contributing to annual award targets in the UK.
• Develop and manage a pipeline for 2-5 years growth aligned to UK strategy.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Defence clients positioning Leidos as a strategic supplier.
• Guide bid teams in pursuit and shaping of campaigns.
• Identify and qualify opportunities matching Leidos strengths.
• Lead and execute significant new business campaigns in the UK Defence market.
• Operate within a multi-functional team as a leader and communicator.
