Valarian Technologies in London is seeking a Business Development Manager - Defence to define and execute our defence market strategy across government, primes, integrators and end users. You’ll be responsible for securing how our organisation operates in the defence market day-to-day: from account mapping and stakeholder engagement, to bid and capture management, to compliance and assurance across systems.

This hands-on leadership role combines strategy, architecture and execution.

Qualifications

• Proven BD experience in defence/government or regulated environments.
• Deep understanding of defence procurement and winning strategies.
• Hands-on capture management, bid and proposal development.
• Experience with primes, integrators, and government stakeholders.
• Knowledge of defence assurance, UK Gov classifications, procurement frameworks.
• Strong account mapping and long sales cycles.
• CRM and pipeline management experience.
• Experience building go-to-market capability in high-growth settings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute defence BD strategy.
• Design scalable go-to-market for government clients.
• Lead bid and proposal development and capture management.
• Manage audits, certifications and external assessors.
• Develop relationships with primes and government stakeholders.
• Set metrics for pipeline, win rates, and market penetration.
• Hire and lead a small defence BD team.
