Valarian, headquartered in London, seeks a hands-on Business Development Manager - Defence to lead our defence market strategy across government, primes, integrators and end users. You will map accounts, engage stakeholders, and drive bid and capture management while ensuring compliance with UK security classifications.

You’ll design scalable GTM plans, collaborate with Product and Engineering, and build a BD team to accelerate pipeline and market penetration in a fast-growing, regulated

Competenze

• Proven experience leading in BD, defence, government or regulated B2G/B2B environments.
• Hands-on experience with capture management, bid and proposal development.
• Experience managing an ecosystem of primes, integrators and government stakeholders.
• Practical experience with defence assurance and compliance, including UK Government Security Classifications.

Mansioni

• Oversee and execute Valarian’s defence business development strategy.
• Build and mature defence market posture, including security clearances and assurance requirements.
• Design and implement scalable go-to-market across government, primes, integrators and end users.
• Work with Product and Engineering to ensure offering is positioned for defence customers.
• Build and maintain BD playbooks, standards and processes for defence sales.
• Lead opportunity management, account mapping and pipeline generation.
• Own bid and proposal development, capture management and RFIs/RFPs responses.
• Develop and manage relationships with primes, system integrators and government stakeholders.
• Manage audits, certifications and engagement with external assessors and procurement teams.
• Set metrics and reporting for pipeline, win rates and market penetration.
• Hire, develop and lead a small, high-performing defence BD team.
