Job summary

Construction in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Painter for a contract role across Cambridge and surrounding areas. You will work across void properties, with materials supplied and fuel expenses covered for travel outside your usual area.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with an initial assignment of at least two weeks and potential for ongoing work. Day rate: £160–£175.

You’ll be working independently across residential properties, helping prepare homes for their next occupants. With consistent daytime hours, a supportive management team, and the possibility of extending beyond the initial assignment, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Painter looking for their next contract.

I’d love to see CVs from anyone who has worked as a Painter, Decorator, or Painting and Decorating Operative within residential maintenance or property refurbishment.

As a Painter, you will be:

• Completing painting and decorating work within void properties
• Preparing properties to a high standard for new tenants
• Working independently, usually spending several days at each property
• Collecting materials when required in coordination with the contractor
• Maintaining a professional and respectful approach while working in residential homes

Location & travel

This Painter role is based in Cambridge, with work across the surrounding areas. You’ll typically remain at one property for several days at a time, reducing unnecessary travel, while fuel expenses are covered when travelling outside your normal working area. Cambridge is easily accessible via the M11, A14, A10 and A428, making travel between jobs straightforward.
