Job description

Morgan Hunt are working with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Data Architect on a contract basis. The role is for someone who is experienced in implementing and configuring Databricks.

Candidates must have active SC Clearance. (SC clearance can take 3 months to get)

You will guide high‑performing teams to design and implement scalable data solutions leveraging Databricks and cloud‑native tools. This role blends technical leadership with strategic oversight, shaping the future of data platforms for some of our most high‑impact clients and guiding our teams in modern approaches and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor cross‑functional data engineering teams to deliver end‑to‑end Databricks solutions.
• Own project delivery, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution across cloud data engagements.
• Enforce best practices around data governance, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging data technologies and promoting continuous learning.

Role

• Flexible on rate
• Inside of IR35
• 1 day per week in the office, Canary Wharf
• Candidates must have active SC Clearance
• £750 per day Inside IR35
• Contract initially until 31/03/26 (With a strong chance of extension possible)
