VWFS UK is seeking a Knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance Team in the UK. You will advise on UK data protection laws, support the DPO, manage DPIAs, oversee data breach responses, and liaise with regulators to ensure robust investigations and compliant processes.

The role requires a proactive, precise professional with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive improvements across the business in a regulated environment.

Formación

• Experience providing data protection advice within Compliance or Legal functions.
• Strong understanding of ICO guidance and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.
• Ability to manage complex, time-sensitive workloads with precision and professionalism.
• Skilled at researching, analysing and interpreting regulatory information.
• Comfortable challenging views and interpreting guidance accurately.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide expert guidance on UK data protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead breach assessment, oversight and reporting, including MI reporting to senior forums.
• Act as contact for front-line teams on DSARs, complaints and litigation matters.
• Develop and execute second-line monitoring to assess compliance and drive improvements.
• Liaise with ICO on complaints and regulatory enquiries, ensuring robust investigations.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance colleagues across the business to resolve data protection issues.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance data protection compliance and efficiency.
