Job summary

A leading marketing agency in London is seeking a Data Director focused on governance and data operations. This role involves managing third party data projects and designing data-driven strategies. THE ROLE

The Data Planning Team on this account is about taking Data Strategy into the future and using a scientific approach to ensure everything we do can be measured effectively to show business value. We are responsible for knowing who the customer is and being the voice of the customer to enable best in class customer experience.

Your responsibilities

70% of the role

  • Briefing and managing third party data suppliers on existing and new projects through RAPP briefing documents, assessment of supplier proposals and contractual Statement of Works
  • Creation of Data Flow diagrams, detailing what data is created, transferred, where it is held and for what purpose
  • Liaising with US colleagues on DPIA (Data Privacy Impact Assessments), Data Processing Tables, Data Flows and Statement of Works and establishing SLAs and best working practices that are adhered to
  • Liaising with wider account team to ensure projects with a third party data element are planned and delivered on time
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and new product developments in the 3rd party data environment and provide innovative solutions for the client.

30% of the role

  • Support in the design of data driven communications strategies using both third party data and 1st party data
  • Design test plans for new campaign activities and support data strategy proposals with business cases
  • Demonstrate to others how to write compelling documents / presentation around analytics and strategy – the art of storytelling

You will need to be a natural collaborator who is able to collaborate within the Data Planning Team but also with Data Analytics, Client Partnership, Technology, Strategy and Creative to deliver an integrated solution for the client. You will be part of high-profile projects to answer complex strategic questions using data; persuading our client to follow the right data-driven strategy and helping to build out our core propositions and products.

Your skills and experience
  • Strong knowledge of the third party data market for both Domestic and Business data sets
  • Extensive knowledge of GDPR, and other regulations that impact the data industry
  • A confident, conscientious, self-starter, with a strong work ethic, and the capacity to build excellent working relationships with clients and RAPP colleagues.
  • Ability to think laterally about how data can be used to solve business solutions
  • Understanding of how databases can be leveraged and enhanced to support the delivery of data strategies
  • Understanding of analytical tools and techniques such as modelling and segmentation and how the outputs can be applied
