Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited is seeking a Data Centre Technician in the UK. You will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists to keep AWS infrastructure running, troubleshoot rack-level events, and document SOPs for junior staff.

You will handle escalation, contribute to local projects, and participate in an on-call rotation with potential after-hours work. Travel up to 10% may be required within the Thames Valley region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Data Centres are 24/7 environments; willing to work rotating shifts (day/night) and weekends.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
• Respond to off hour emergency calls per on-call rotation
• Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies
• Must be commutable to the Thames Valley Region
