Job summary

AWS Data Services UK Limited seeks a motivated technician to oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for AWS data centers. You will ensure uptime of critical facilities and implement safety procedures.

The role requires shift work, on-call rotation, and collaboration with contractors and engineering teams to maintain high safety standards and reliable services for customers.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma is required.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, controls).
• Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.

Responsibilities

• Safety: uphold highest safety standards and foster a strong safety culture.
• Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment (UPS, switchgear, generators, HVAC).
• Troubleshoot events within internal SLA.
• Take routine readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required.
• Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night).
• On‑call rotation to respond to off‑duty emergencies.
