Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking an Engineering Operations Technician to monitor and maintain AWS data center infrastructure, ensuring high availability of compute, storage, and network systems.

You will respond to incidents, perform preventative maintenance, and execute standard operating procedures in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment. You will troubleshoot hardware, work with engineering teams to implement improvements, and document procedures and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Data center operations and infrastructure maintenance.
• Experience with Linux/Windows administration.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain AWS data center infrastructure and systems health
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on servers, networking, and power/cooling equipment
• Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents within defined SLAs
• Execute standard operating procedures, change requests, and deployment tasks
• Troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues, escalating to engineering when needed
• Use monitoring and ticketing tools to track system performance and issues
• Document procedures, incidents, and resolutions to improve operational excellence
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams on improvements
• Support capacity planning, rack/stack, and cabling activities in the data center
• Contribute to a high-safety, high-availability, and compliance-focused environment
