Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to support Proximity Services at the London data centre. The role covers 24/7 coverage via a 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights), installation of racks, housing, networking and computer equipment, and liaising with global teams to ensure hardware accuracy and installation standards.

The successful candidate will handle cabling, hardware testing and replacement tasks, while upholding file integrity and security within the data

Qualifications

Computer engineering experience to support data centre operations.
Cabling knowledge to optimise installation workflows.
Experience with rack-mount kit and network hardware from major vendors.
Motivated, proactive, able to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
Strong English written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Install racks, housing and network equipment in data centre cabinet rails and cable trays.
Manage and implement installations including shelves, power strips, cable management and customer IT gear.
Identify and replace faulty hardware components, test and label cabling as required.
Coordinate with global teams and third parties on hardware issues and processes.
Maintain tidiness, security and accurate asset information in server suites.
