Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to support operations at the Croydon Data Centre. The role provides 24/7 365 coverage with a 12-hour shift pattern, days and nights, and involves installing racks, housing, network and IT equipment on-site in London.

Candidates should have strong computer engineering and cabling experience, plus ability to troubleshoot and improve operational efficiency. English communication and proficiency with Outlook/Word/Excel are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in computer engineering to optimize methods.
• Experience cabling to optimize installations.
• Experience installing rack-mount kits (HP/Cisco/Dell/Arista/Synergy 1200).
• Strong motivation and proactive attitude to work.
• Willingness to improve operations through process changes.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Support data centre operations 24/7 across days and nights.
• Install racks, housing, network and computer equipment.
• Manage hardware installations and cabling; replace parts as needed.
• Liaise with global and third-party teams on hardware issues.
• Maintain tidy, secure, and well-documented data centre areas.
• Assist with asset information and installation standards.
• Communicate effectively in English.
