Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a Shift Engineer for Data Centres in London. The role focuses on electrical bias in critical facilities, leading planned, corrective, and reactive maintenance of MEP assets and ensuring safety and compliance.

You will issue permits to work, manage risk, and supervise contractors while coordinating with the duty Shift Leader and Service Delivery Manager. On-site presence is required for this critical facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Critical Environments such as Banking HQ and Data Centres.
• Authorised Person (High Voltage or Low Voltage) Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Uk Level 3 Qualification or equivalent (Successfully completed apprenticeship in ).
• BS 7671 (Current Edition).
• (Desirable) C&G 2391 Inspection, Test and Certification (Or equivalent).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
• Ability to lead, motivate and direct a small team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Operational understanding of MEP systems within the Critical Facility/Data Centre with electrical bias.
• Make recommendations for improvement and provide technical reports.
• Ensure Vendor service visits are completed efficiently and inspected.
• Attend weekly and quarterly team meetings and handover reports.
• Maintain health and safety compliance and incident reporting.
• Order M&E components and liaise with supply chain for remedial works.
• Produce site-specific SOP/MOP/EOP and ensure work orders are completed within SLA.
