Job summary

JLL is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to support Proximity Services at the Croydon data centre in London. The role provides 24/7 cover via 12-hour shifts (06:00–18:00 and 18:00–06:00) and involves installing racks, housing, network and computer equipment, plus hardware maintenance.

Responsibilities include cabling, testing, and liaising with global teams and third parties. Strong English communication, problem solving and adaptability are essential for this on-site position in London.

Qualifications

• Computer engineering understanding to optimise methods of working.
• Cabling experience to implement efficient layouts and management.
• Rack mount kit installation with multiple vendors.
• Hardware maintenance including replacement of parts and testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and 24/7 coverage in a data centre with 12-hour shifts.
• Install racks, housing, network and computer equipment in the data centre.
• Manage installations including shelves, power strips, rails, cable management and cabling.
• Identify issues with hardware or cabling, replace internal components and test.
• Liaise with global counterparts and third parties on hardware issues.
• Uphold tidiness, security, asset information and installation standards.
