Job summary

JLL is seeking a Data Centre Technician to join the Slough Data Centre team on a rotating 12-hour shift. You will install and maintain racks, cabling and network equipment to ensure 24/7 availability and adherence to data centre standards.

You will collaborate with third-party engineers, perform hardware swaps and support incident resolution with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy. A UK driving licence and IT literacy (Outlook/Excel/Word) are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Computer engineering/IT experience relevant to data centres.
• Cabling experience to optimise installations and cable management.
• Rack-mount kit installation (HP, DELL, CISCO) and hardware swaps.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Proactive, customer-focused with ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain racks, housing, network and IT equipment.
• Support 24/7 operations with 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Liaise with third-party engineers and contractors on hardware issues.
• Uphold data centre standards for tidiness, security and asset information.
