Job summary

The Newt in Somerset is seeking a friendly Cyder Tasting & Tour Guide to bring the cyder story to life for visitors. You will host daily tours and tastings, connect guests with our cyders, orchards and estate, and lead the Cyder Tasting Room experience with care and knowledge.

You will develop a strong understanding of cyders, the production journey and estate narratives, delivering memorable experiences while encouraging Cyder Club membership and on-site sales.

Qualifications

• Experience in guest-facing hospitality, tour or visitor experience.
• A genuine interest in cyder and its story.
• Natural storytelling ability to engage diverse guests.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about cyders, orchards and the estate.
• Warm, professional and confident approach with guests and groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cyder Cellar tours and hosted tastings that guests remember.
• Tell the cyder story from orchard to production and provenance.
• Develop knowledge of cyders, orchards, production methods and vintages.
• Own the Cyder Tasting Room operations from setup to reset.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and stock.
• Create a welcoming environment and adapt storytelling to guests.
• Promote Cyder Club membership and support cellar door sales.
• Deliver additional experiences across the estate when required.
