Raytheon UK is seeking a technically strong Cyber Security Engineer in the Digital Technologies team. This role offers a clear growth pathway into security architecture, working closely with experienced security architects and engineers to build secure systems.
You will develop skills across networking, OS, IAM concepts, and cloud fundamentals while applying security tooling and HM Government security requirements. The opportunity supports remote, hybrid, and site-based working.
Digital Technologies (DT) department are responsible for supporting and enabling the wider business in the delivery of its core services supporting Raytheon UK to successfully enable collaboration, operational activities, and business delivery.
This role is designed for a technically strong cyber security or IT professional who is looking to transition into a Cyber Security Architect position over time. You will join as a Cyber Security Engineer and develop the skills, experience, and exposure needed to move into architecture, working closely with experienced security architects and engineers. We are not expecting prior architecture experience. Instead, we are looking for individuals with a solid technical foundation, strong curiosity, and the ability to think critically about how systems are designed and secured. This is a growth role with a clear pathway into security architecture.
Experience in cyber security, infrastructure, or
systems engineering. Background in roles such as: Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, SOC Analyst (with strong technical depth) Strong understanding of; Networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, segmentation), Operating systems (Windows/Linux), Identity and access management concepts, Cloud Fundamentals. Exposure to security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR) Strong understanding of core security principles such as: Defence in depth, Least privilege, Zero trust concepts An understanding of designing and implementing secure systems to HMG security requirements. Experience managing complex technology estates, with differing risk profiles.
