Job Opportunity: SPAR Customer Team Member

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Team Member at SPAR. In this role, you will support store management and create a positive customer experience. Your responsibilities include maximising sales and profit through various tasks, contributing to continuous store improvement, and delivering excellent customer service with our core principles: ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later, and Food for now!’

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Customer Service

• Greeting customers warmly and professionally.
• Assisting customers with inquiries and product locations.
• Processing transactions efficiently and accurately at the tills.
• Upselling products and promoting multi-buy offers to maximise sales.

Store Operations

• Managing stock: checking deliveries, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean, organised sales floor.
• Rotating stock to ensure freshness and proper expiration management.
• Completing tasks such as date checking, stock and gap checks, price updates, and promotional displays.
• Following all company policies and procedures diligently.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• Previous experience in retail or similar roles is preferred.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions accurately.
• Understanding of retail legislation and compliance.
• Proactive in suggesting ways to improve customer service and business performance.
• Experience with ‘Challenge 25’ policy is desirable.
• Enthusiastic team player and independent worker.
• Cash handling experience is a plus but not essential.
