Job summary

ADT is seeking Customer Solutions Technicians to perform routine inspections and repairs on CCTV, video doorbell, and intruder alarm systems across customer sites in the UK. You will be trained fully and equipped with a company van, uniform and tools to perform the role to high standards.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driver’s licence.
• Ability to carry and climb ladders and work at height.
• Practical skills with hand and power tools.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries and waste.
• Reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated with ability to work alone or in a team.
• Excellent communication and ability to exceed customer expectations.
• Familiar with smartphones, tablets and PCs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and breakdown repairs to CCTV, video doorbell and intruder alarm systems.
• Test and replace batteries in panels and detectors as needed.
• Check activation of warning sounders and signaling equipment.
• Ensure systems operate on standby batteries where applicable.
• Liaise with service bureau per company procedures.
• Accurately record works on mobile data device per instructions.

What You Will Do

Customer Solutions Technicians are field based and are required to carry out Routine Inspections and breakdown repairs to CCTV, video doorbell and intruder alarm systems to the relevant standards, providing the highest level of customer service, whilst managing workloads to meet and exceed daily targets and customer expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start a career in the Security industry. All of our technicians undergo full paid training. In addition to this you will also receive company van, uniform and tools to do the job with a basic salary and competitive incentive scheme.

How You Will Do It

• To check correct functionality of systems including, but not limited to the following:
• To replace all detector batteries where necessary.
• To test panel and back-up batteries, replacing where necessary.
• To check correct activation of the warning sounders.
• To check the system is able to operate normally on the standby batteries.
• To check correct operation of all detection devices.
• To check correct activation of signalling equipment to the Alarm Receiving Centre.
• To check and clean CCTV and WIFI cameras.
• To liaise with the service bureau in line with the Company requirements and procedures.
• Accurately complete detail of works on the Mobile Data Device according to work instructions and codes of practice if necessary.

Essential

What we look for

• Full UK manual driver’s licence.
• Have the ability to carry and climb ladders and to work at height.
• Have practical skills to work with hand and power tools.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and to clean up any debris from your work returning faulty and unused equipment for correct disposal.
• Be reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated with the ability to work alone as well as in a team.
• Have excellent communication, relationship building skills and able to exceed customer expectations.
• Be familiar with the use of technology like smartphones, tablets and PCs.
• A security check will be performed once an offer has been made to the successful candidate.

Preferred

• Electrical experience/qualifications.
• Previous experience in installing/servicing in a residential environment.
