Job summary

One Stop is seeking a Customer Service Assistant to join our retail team in Newcastle-under-Lyme. You will provide excellent customer service, stock shelves, process payments and help maintain store appearance in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll look for ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback, while keeping customers safe and the store welcoming. We value flexibility and community involvement, with opportunities to work across store areas and support local initiatives.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Stock shelves and process payments accurately.
• Maintain store appearance and safety.
• Engage customers to gather feedback and improve service.

Responsibilities

• Know customers and serve them with passion and pride.
• Encourage customers to give feedback via the have your say survey.
• Work across all areas: online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines.
• Apply training to work safely.
• Participate in seasonal, community and charity events.
• Understand store performance and contribute to profit.
• Be welcoming and follow policies.
• Clock in and out at shift start/end to ensure accurate pay.
• Follow security procedures and wear safety equipment as available.
• Follow the Think 25 policy for age-restricted products.
• Respond quickly to assistance calls on self-service checkouts.
• Keep aisles clean, tidy and organized; avoid congestion.
• May run the shift in absence of the Shift Leader/Store Manager.
• Follow training to keep self, others and the store safe and legal.
• If the store has a Post Office Local, duties include Post Office operations and background checks.
