Job summary

Lori Walsh Recruitment is seeking a Customer Service & Development Coordinator for our Basildon client in the freight forwarding sector. You will manage quotations, follow up pricing opportunities, and maintain strong communication with customers by email and phone.

The role also involves handling a shared mailbox and supporting business growth through proactive lead generation. Full training will be provided, with opportunities for development and internal progression.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Organised with good attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.
• Proactive approach with an interest in business development.
• Enthusiastic, motivated, and looking to build a long-term career.
• Ideally are looking for some experience of the shipping and Logistics sector, but would consider someone from outside of this sector.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing customer quotations.
• Following up on pricing opportunities.
• Maintaining communication with customers via email and telephone.
• Manage a shared mailbox.
• Ensure enquiries are allocated and actioned efficiently while delivering a high level of customer service.
• Creating customer rate cards.
• Maintaining client-specific spreadsheets.
• Assisting with various administrative and sales support activities.
• Support management with identifying potential customer leads to help grow our client base.
• Cross-training with other departments to provide support during holiday periods and to develop a broader understanding of the business.
• Full training will be provided for all aspects of the role.
