Job summary

Arun District Council in West Sussex is seeking a Customer Service Advisor to join our Customer Services Team. The role will be based at Bognor Regis Town Hall and Littlehampton Civic Centre, working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.

You will deliver a first-class service to customers, handle inquiries across services including Council Tax, Benefits and Elections, and be part of a supportive, training-focused environment with ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Be willing to work as part of a team to provide a high-quality service to customers.
• Be performance driven and able to achieve performance targets.
• Experience of working in a pressured environment, preferably where advice, guidance and problem-solving skills have been exercised on the telephone as well as face to face.
• Have excellent telephone answering, communication, and IT skills.
• Be a quick learner and willing to develop and learn customer service processes and procedures.
• Be able to use a variety of computerised resources to access and process information.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-class customer care as part of the Customer Services Team.
• Handle inquiries across services including Council Tax, Benefits, Elections and Switchboard.
• Work to maintain high standards of service and build good working relationships with other services within the Council.
