Job Description:
My client, a leading IT Solutions provider, is seeking to recruit a Desktop Support Engineer to join an expanding Customer Support team. This client has more than 10,000 employees worldwide and supports numerous large Enterprise Customers. The role requires the following skills:
- Own, investigate, and resolve customer technical issues, collaborating within and across teams, and utilizing troubleshooting tools and practices.
- Participate in community forums with peer delivery roles and share knowledge where appropriate.
- Develop technical and professional skills through training and readiness programs to resolve customer issues.
- Identify potential product defects and escalate appropriately to contribute to Microsoft product improvements.
- Fluency in English, with effective communication skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- At least 3 years of experience in technical support or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 technology.
- Knowledge of Office Setup & Deployment processes.
- Proficiency with Office core applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher, InfoPath, Access.
- Understanding of Office integration with platforms such as Windows, third-party network shares/OS, mobiles, SharePoint, OneDrive.
- Additional desirable skills include:
- Networking skills and familiarity with protocols (FTP, HTTP, etc.).
- Object-oriented programming experience.
- Technical literacy and hands-on experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs):
- Relevant Microsoft Technology Certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in technical consulting or related IT fields is preferred.
