Job summary

Skipton Building Society in Harrogate is recruiting a Customer Consultant for a full-time 36-hour per week role to support branch operating hours at our Harrogate & Wetherby branches. You will greet customers in-branch and by phone, understand needs, explain savings products, and provide a friendly, professional service that puts customers at the heart of what we do.

You will help foster a local community presence with branches that support online transactions and contact centre interactions,

Qualifications

• Previous experience interacting with customers.
• Experience in person or over the phone in a contact centre environment.
• Background in retail, hospitality, or health sector considered.
• Ability to work with others in a one-team mindset.
• Strong time management to handle busy periods.
• Desire and ability to grow and adapt to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Be the First Point of Contact: warmly welcome customers in-branch and by phone.
• Engage and Understand: ask questions to uncover needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Listen and Tailor Solutions: respond to individual circumstances with personalised options.
• Proactive Outreach: call customers to discuss how we can help.
• Maintain Accurate Records: keep customer records up-to-date and support vulnerable customers.
