Job summary

JD.COM in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced logistics professional to oversee cross-border customs operations. You will verify and enter forecasted cargo data, review documentation for completeness and compliance, and monitor real-time clearance progress to avoid delays.

You will coordinate with forwarders, brokers, carriers and customers to resolve exceptions, conduct root-cause analysis, and drive SOP improvements that reduce delays and complaints.

Qualifications

• Industry experience: 5+ years.

• Experience with cross-border logistics documentation and exception handling.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify and enter cross-border cargo forecast information into the system with accuracy.
• Review customs documents for completeness and compliance; follow up on missing/abnormal documents.
• Monitor customs clearance progress in real time and escalate delays or exceptions.
• Lead handling of customs exceptions and coordinate with forwarders, brokers, carriers and customers for closure.
• Analyze exceptions and complaints to drive SOP improvements and reduce repeat issues.

Job description

• Forecast Receipt & Entry: Receive, verify and enter cross-border cargo forecast information into the system; ensure key data (product name, quantity, value, shipper/consignee) is accurate and complete.
• Document Review & Follow-up: Review customs documents (commercial invoice, packing list, customs declaration, certificate of origin) for completeness, compliance and consistency; follow up on missing or abnormal documents to reduce customs delay risks.
• Customs Clearance Tracking: Monitor customs clearance progress in real time, record milestone timelines, identify exceptions (delays, inspection, detention) and elevate for resolution.
• Exception Alert & Coordination: Lead handling of customs exceptions, cargo damage/loss and last-mile delivery failures; coordinate with forwarders, customs brokers, carriers and customer service for quick closure.
• Quality Improvement & Process Optimization: Conduct root cause analysis based on exception data and complaints; identify quality risks in cross-border operations, drive SOP optimization and standardization to reduce exception and repeat-complaint rates.

• Professional Skills: Capable in cross-border customs operations and document review; familiar with full-chain cross-border logistics processes and customs documentation requirements; experience in logistics exception handling, quality improvement or process optimization projects preferred; strong risk identification, multi-party coordination and root cause analysis skills.
