An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated professional to join our friendly C ritical C are O utreach T eam (CCOT) at Royal Stoke University Hospita l .
We are a major trauma centre caring for patients from a wide demographic area, whilst also being a specialist centre within the region for Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic surgery , GI S ervices, Trauma and Orthopaedics , Cardiology , Women & Children Services, and Oncology S ervices.
Th e successful applicant would demonstrate a high level of professional standards; they would be a role model and would work autonomously whilst demonstrating the core trust values.
As a Band 7 Practitioner, leadership and management of the service and the Band 6 practitioner tier is essential .
They would provide a rapid response to patients whose condition is recognised as deteriorating and ensure timely appropriate interventions .
T he team are ALS providers, attending cardiac arrest calls, medical emergency calls and t rauma calls – excellent leadership qualities are required for this exciting and varied role.
Provide a timely , holistic d ischarge review of patients transitioning from critical care to the ward s to ensure all clinical needs are addressed to prevent deterioration. In addition, support ing the wards with tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients .
Demonstrating an extensive knowledge base and range of high level clinical skills including physical health assessment and non-medical prescribing .
D eliver ing education and training across the T rust, both formally and informally surrounding the deteriorating patient and caring for patients in level one areas.
T he role also involves taking calls as part of Martha’s Rule, the T rust has been part of the phase one pilot scheme and has successfully rolled out this service across over 50 wards, the Emergency Department and paed iatrics .
