This is an exciting opportunity for a band 7 Senior Sister to lead a caring and compassionate team specialising in the delivery of Outpatient services.
The Senior Sister will be responsible for the operational delivery of the Outpatient services at RSUH and County Hospital.
You will be a registered nurse with an excellent track record of success in leading a team. You will be passionate about patient care and have the foresight and ability to facilitate and sustain change.
You must be enthusiastic and motivated and be a professional role model, encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential in leading the clinical area of Outpatients at RSUH and County Hospital.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential and be able to organise and prioritise workload, be an effective, approachable leader and have a history of managing change and developing a safety culture.
Main Duties of the job
The Senior Sister will be responsible for the management of the clinical area of Outpatients at RSUH and County Hospital.
The Senior Sister will facilitate innovative and evidence based nursing practice through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team.
The Senior Sister will act as a credible and professional role model, encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential.
The Senior Sister will work with the Matron and Directorate Manager to ensure the Service Level Agreements for the delivery of Outpatients are met.
The Senior Sister will be responsible in the HR management of the nursing team taking lead responsibility for sickness absence reporting and management, performance management working within Trust policy and procedure, education and development of the nursing team.

Deputise on behalf of the Matron at Directorate/Divisional meetings and working groups.
Ensure all patient concerns are addressed on the department and work with the Patient Advisory and Liaison Service (PALS) and other patient forums.
