Job summary

Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk is recruiting a Crematorium Operations Team Leader to oversee technical and regulatory aspects of crematorium services at Mintlyn, King’s Lynn. You will lead a team, ensure safe operation of cremators and filtration systems, and maintain high standards of service for bereaved families.

You will manage compliance records, support duty management, and train staff, while communicating with visitors and stakeholders in a compassionate manner.

Qualifications

• Must have a nationally recognised cremator training scheme (FBCA/ICCM) or be prepared to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum of 3 GCSEs grade 5-9 including English and Maths.
• Demonstrable ICT knowledge, including Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel).
• Experience of operating cremators and the related filtration plant; supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Crematorium Attendants, coordinating cover and training.
• Oversee maintenance, compliance records and regulatory data.
• Ensure cremations meet the Code of Cremation Practice and current guidance.
• Support duty management, chapel work and engage with visitors during tours/open days.
