Job summary

Keoghs in Bolton is seeking a qualified solicitor to supervise credit hire file handlers and drive technical excellence within the unit. You will mentor staff, ensure compliance with SRA standards, and collaborate with the business unit director to shape policies and performance targets.

The role involves managing a caseload of 10–15 claims often valued over £25k, developing new starters, and supporting internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Experience handling credit hire cases, defendant or claimant preferred.
• Qualified Solicitor or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience managing own caseload and mentoring others.
• Ability to plan workloads and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise credit hire file handlers and maintain accurate technical development records.
• Mentor and coach staff to extend technical knowledge and meet targets.
• Assist with pre-audit assessments for external client audits and internal reviews.
• Identify training needs and escalate to team leaders.
• Develop new starters to achieve financial authority within six months.
• Manage performance improvement plans for staff with technical issues.
• Handle a caseload of 10–15 claims with values above £25k.
• Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations.
