Job description

Organisation: Leicestershire County Council

Work Location: Loxley House, Nottingham, NG2 3NG

Worker Category: Hybrid working

Salary: £27,717, increasing to £30,066 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4.30pm, and 1 Saturday a month 9am-1pm

Contract Type: Permanent

EMSS is seeking x1 full-time Credit Controller to join our expanding team.

Our team is experiencing growth, and this role is suitable for candidates with consumer collections/credit control experience who can manage their ledger and support clients with a full 360 service. Customer service skills are key.

About the Role

You will have strong experience in credit control and debt management of consumer ledgers. The role involves managing a varied credit control portfolio, resolving disputes, maintaining service user relationships, and improving processes. Targets are supportive, not unachievable, focusing on customer support.

About You

To apply, you must:

  • Own the Adult Social Care customer portfolio, meeting KPIs and collection targets.
  • Prioritize collections to minimize risks.
  • Work according to best practices, service user needs, and finance strategy.
  • Identify root causes of invoice queries and reduce delays.
  • Identify non-collectable debts and prepare write-off schedules.
  • Recognize debts requiring legal or external recovery.
  • Manage queries and ensure resolution in collaboration with service users and areas.
