Jane Gorse Recruitment Limited is hiring a Credit Controller in Cheetham Hill, Manchester. The role focuses on taking ownership of ledgers, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring payments stay on track.

You will report to the Credit Manager and have opportunities to shape processes, improve collections, and develop your career as the business grows.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of credit control experience in a commercial environment.
• Friendly, confident telephone manner and clear written communication.
• Confidence with numbers and a sharp eye for detail.
• Working knowledge of Excel and strong Outlook skills.
• Organised approach with ability to prioritise and manage time.
• Motivation to work independently and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own customer ledger and ensure payments are received within terms.
• Work across several ledgers with different requirements.
• Build relationships with customers, chase outstanding payments and resolve queries.
• Identify and monitor customers who may pose a financial risk.
• Refer overdue accounts for disconnection following credit control procedures.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and monthly updates for senior management.

I'm recruiting for a fast-growing business in Cheetham Hill looking for a proactive Credit Controller to join its team.

Reporting to the Credit Manager, you'll take ownership of your ledger, build strong customer relationships and help keep payments on track. You'll also have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, improve processes and make the role your own.

What you'll be getting stuck into

• Managing your own customer ledger and ensuring payments are received within agreed terms.
• Working across several ledgers, each with different requirements.
• Building relationships with customers, chasing outstanding payments and resolving account queries.
• Identifying and monitoring customers who may pose a financial risk to the business.
• Referring overdue accounts for disconnection in line with strict credit control procedures.
• Finding smarter ways to improve collections and day-to-day processes.
• Preparing ad hoc reports and monthly updates for senior management and stakeholders.
• Keeping account records accurate and handling supporting administration.
