Cheetham Hill, Manchester is home to a fast-growing business recruiting for a proactive Credit Controller to join its team.

Reporting to the Credit Manager, you’ll own your ledger, chase overdue payments, maintain relationships, and help improve processes as the role evolves.

This is a hands-on role with an excellent salary and benefits package for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• At least one year’s credit control experience in a commercial environment.
• Friendly, confident telephone manner and clear written communication.
• Strong numerical ability with a sharp eye for detail.
• Proficient in Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own customer ledger and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
• Work across several ledgers with different requirements.
• Build relationships with customers, chase outstanding payments and resolve account queries.
• Identify and monitor customers who may pose a financial risk to the business.
• Refer overdue accounts for disconnection in line with credit control procedures.
• Suggest improvements to collections processes and daily workflows.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and monthly updates for senior management.

I'm recruiting for a fast-growing business in Cheetham Hill looking for a proactive Credit Controller to join its team.

Reporting to the Credit Manager, you’ll take ownership of your ledger, build strong customer relationships and help keep payments on track. You’ll also have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, improve processes and make the role your own.

What you’ll be getting stuck into

• Managing your own customer ledger and ensuring payments are received within agreed terms.
• Working across several ledgers, each with different requirements.
• Building relationships with customers, chasing outstanding payments and resolving account queries.
• Identifying and monitoring customers who may pose a financial risk to the business.
• Referring overdue accounts for disconnection in line with strict credit control procedures.
• Finding smarter ways to improve collections and day-to-day processes.
• Preparing ad hoc reports and monthly updates for senior management and stakeholders.
• Keeping account records accurate and handling supporting administration.

What you’ll bring

• At least one year’s credit control experience in a commercial environment.
• A friendly, confident telephone manner and clear written communication.
• Confidence with numbers and a sharp eye for detail.
• Working knowledge of Excel and strong Outlook skills.
• An organised approach, with the ability to prioritise and manage your time.
