We are seeking a Credit Control Team Leader / Manager to head a credit control function in Milton Keynes. This role focuses on improving cash flow, reducing aged debt and strengthening customer relationships while leading and developing a dedicated team.

You will oversee day-to-day credit control operations, manage debt recovery and monitor performance against key financial targets. A strong leadership and analytical mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive credit control experience in a senior or management role.
• Qualifications in credit management, finance or accounting.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
• Experience with credit management and accounting systems.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proven team leadership and people management experience.
• Strong organisation, communication and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement credit control strategies to improve cash flow.
• Set and review credit policies, limits and procedures.
• Assess customer creditworthiness and manage credit risk.
• Oversee debt collection and resolve overdue accounts.
• Manage bad debt provisions, write-offs and payment plans.
• Liaise with credit agencies and solicitors on debt recovery.
• Monitor cash collection, aged debt and DSO targets.
• Report on performance, risks and collection trends.
• Build strong customer relationships and resolve payment disputes.
• Oversee statements, reminders and debt follow-ups.
• Lead, coach and develop the credit control team.
• Work with other departments to improve processes and controls.
