Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a Credit Control Team Leader in Blackburn. The role oversees day-to-day credit control, leads a team of controllers, and ensures balances are managed within terms, while closely collaborating with sales and finance to resolve queries and maintain cash flow.

The position offers hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days WFH) with a salary up to £35,000 per year, and scope for progression within a growing business.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control, ideally at a supervisory level.
• Experience mentoring or developing a team.
• Strong knowledge of credit control and debt collection processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive, professional approach when dealing with customers.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to analyse aged debt and identify actions.
• Good Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing the credit control team.
• Managing the day-to-day credit control function.
• Monitoring aged debt and pursuing outstanding balances.
• Setting and monitoring team KPIs and performance targets.
• Reviewing customer accounts and credit limits.
• Handling escalated queries and complex debt issues.
• Collaborating with sales, finance and other departments to resolve queries.
• Producing regular aged debt and performance reports.
• Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes.
• Supporting cash collection and maintaining strong cash flow.
• Ensuring credit control procedures are followed.
• Providing regular updates to senior management.
