Credit Control Team Leader
Location: Blackburn
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH

Client Details

As Credit Control Team Leader, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day credit control operation, ensuring outstanding debts are managed effectively and customer accounts are kept within agreed terms.

You'll lead and support a team of credit controllers, monitor performance and work closely with internal departments and customers to resolve queries and minimise overdue debt.

Description

The key responsibilities of a Credit Control Team Leader:

• Leading, motivating and developing the credit control team
• Managing the day-to-day credit control function
• Monitoring aged debt and ensuring outstanding balances are actively pursued
• Setting and monitoring team KPIs and performance targets
• Reviewing customer accounts and credit limits
• Handling escalated customer queries and complex debt issues
• Working closely with sales, finance and other departments to resolve account queries
• Producing regular aged debt and performance reports
• Identifying opportunities to improve credit control processes and proceduresSupporting cash collection and maintaining strong cash flow
• Ensuring appropriate credit control procedures and controls are followed
• Providing regular updates and reporting to senior management

Profile

A successful Credit Control Team Leader will have:

• Previous experience in credit control, ideally at a senior or supervisory level - essential
• Experience managing, mentoring or developing a team
• Strong knowledge of credit control and debt collection processes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• A confident and professional approach when dealing with customers
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• The ability to analyse aged debt and identify areas requiring action
• Good Excel skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider finance team
