Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Credit Controller in Blackburn to manage a high-volume portfolio from a hybrid setup (3 days in office, 2 days from home after probation). You will drive end-to-end credit control, chase payments, and collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service to optimise cash flow.

The role requires strong credit control experience, excellent Excel skills, and a proactive, target-driven approach. On-site parking is available with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Proven credit control experience in a high-volume ledger environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and maximise cash collection.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and dispute-resolution skills.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Own a high-volume portfolio of customer accounts and manage end-to-end credit control and collections.
• Pursue outstanding payments via phone and email; negotiate payment plans per policy.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service to resolve queries and enable timely payments.
• Process and allocate incoming payments; keep ledgers accurate and up-to-date.
• Maintain records of credit control activity, customer communications and actions.
• Produce and review aged debtor reports and monitor portfolio performance.
• Attend debtor meetings and manage escalations; protect customer relationships.
• Provide support to team leaders on escalated accounts and wider projects.
