Job summary

Mitchell Adam Ltd in Stafford is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team. You will manage the credit control process, chase outstanding payments, and support the sales ledger and billing functions in a fast-paced environment.

You'll build strong customer relationships, allocate cash, reconcile ledgers and resolve account queries while ensuring accuracy. The role offers hybrid working, ongoing training, and a collaborative team focused on development and growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Credit Control, Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role.
• Experience managing customer accounts, chasing outstanding debt, raising invoices and allocating cash.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload.

You will proactively chase outstanding payments, maintain customer accounts, allocate cash, reconcile ledgers and resolve customer account queries in a professional and timely manner. You will also prepare and issue invoices, investigate discrepancies, process account adjustments where required and work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure customer accounts remain accurate.

Ideally you will have:

• Previous experience in Credit Control, Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role.
• Experience managing customer accounts, chasing outstanding debt, raising invoices and allocating cash.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the confidence to build relationships and resolve account queries professionally.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy and varied workload.
