Job summary

Protocol Education is looking for Learning Support Assistants to join a welcoming primary school in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire. The role suits those from creative fields who want to make a meaningful difference for children, including those with SEND.

You will support children with a range of needs, encouraging creativity, communication and independence while collaborating with teachers, therapists and families. Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Have professional experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient personality.
• Ability to think creatively and adapt to individual needs.
• Confident in building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Provide two years of professional references.
• Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support children through creative and play-based learning activities.
• Encourage communication and social interaction.
• Help pupils build confidence and independence.
• Deliver personalised interventions and learning opportunities.
• Support sensory, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals.
• Create a safe, positive and engaging environment for every child.
