Job description
ABOUT AVANT ARTE

Avant Arte is a curated platform connecting the world’s leading artists and public arts institutions with a new generation of enthusiasts, collectors and patrons. We collaborate with the most exciting contemporary artists such as Ai Weiwei, Mickalene Thomas, Maurizio Cattelan and Jenny Holzer to create limited editions of the highest quality, from prints and sculptures to digital works.

Our global community of over 4 million collectors and art enthusiasts reflects the growing energy and curiosity of a new generation transforming how art is discovered and supported. Together with leading museums and institutions, we develop fundraising collaborations that strengthen public access to art and engage the new generation of patrons who will shape its future. Make‑Ready, our North London print studio, is the largest fine art silkscreen printmaker in the world.

Our mission is to make discovering and collecting art more accessible, connecting artists, institutions and audiences in meaningful ways that expand art’s reach and impact.

OUR CULTURE

We’re a small team with really big ambitions, both for what we want to achieve and also the environment we’re building. We want to create a company that remains thoughtful as we scale and tries to be genuinely progressive in how we operate. We want people to really own what they do and be given the autonomy and freedom to make mistakes, learn, and create something meaningful.

We all work incredibly hard because we really care about what Avant Arte is here to do – we’re looking for exceptional people who are proactive, hungry to learn, and want to put their pride in our collective achievements.

We know that creating an inclusive environment that promotes and values diversity is critical if we want to build something with impact and meaning. We believe that having diversity in age, background, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective will make us an infinitely better company.

WHAT WE NEED

At Avant Arte, we collaborate with artists to bring original, impactful ideas to life through fine art print and sculpture editions. As a Creative, you’ll be imagining and articulating those ideas, translating each artist’s practice into concepts that feel authentic, exciting, and achievable.

Working closely with our Creative Production Director, you’ll develop concepts, shape pitches, and contribute to editions that resonate deeply with artists and collectors.

What You’ll Do
Concept & Artist Development
  • Develop original edition concepts tailored to each artist’s practice. With tasks ranging from the selection and use of materials or medium, choosing appropriate imagery, through to the narrative framing to more experimental or conceptual approaches.

  • Well researched understanding of the artist’s practice, theory and up to date market performance, for application into the ideation process.

Creative Pitching
  • Build proposals that communicate ideas with clarity, aesthetic sensitivity, and strategic purpose.

  • Present concepts to artists, studios, and internal teams in a way that feels collaborative, grounded, and inspiring.

Commercial & Production Alignment
  • Balance creative ambition with commercial requirements, ensuring concepts support shared goals for the artist and Avant Arte.

  • Shape ideas that sit comfortably within production realities (materials, timelines, budget etc.) while aiming for the highest possible quality.

Trend & Market Awareness
  • Maintain a close connection to contemporary art, edition‑making, materials, and cultural currents.

  • Use this perspective to identify opportunities, inform creative decisions, and contribute to forward‑thinking edition development.

Collaboration Across Teams
  • Work closely with Production, Artist Partnerships, Marketing, and Content teams to ensure concepts are achievable and narratively strong across the full lifecycle of an edition.

MAIN SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • A strong creative eye and the ability to shape ideas that feel both imaginative and grounded in an artist’s practice.

  • Experience pitching concepts with clarity, confidence, and sensitivity to both artistic and commercial considerations.

  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to develop concepts that balance creative ambition and commercial viability.

  • The ability to work quickly and thoughtfully across multiple projects at once.

  • Flexibility, care, and calm under pressure, especially within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

  • An invested understanding and passion for contemporary artists, their practices and the fine art edition market.

YOU’LL PROBABLY HAVE
  • 3+ years in a creative agency, studio, or in‑house creative environment.

  • An understanding or experience of production methods.

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and taste.

Benefits Include:
  • Generous equity allowance

  • Private Healthcare (UK)

  • Enhanced pension contributions and parental leave policies

  • 25 days of holiday plus one extra company wide day on Kings Day (national holiday in the Netherlands which falls in April) & company closure days between Christmas and New Years

  • L&D budget of €1000 per year per employee

  • Flexible / Hybrid working (2 days based out of our London office a week)
