Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor for long-term placements in a mainstream secondary school in Telford. You will supervise classes across the secondary age range, deliver pre-planned work and confidently manage behaviour to keep learners engaged.

The role requires strong IT skills to support lesson delivery, a reliable and adaptable approach, and excellent communication. The position offers flexible day-to-day work with competitive daily rates (£110-£150).

Qualifications

• Experience as Cover Supervisor or similar in a secondary school.

Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Telford

Start Date: November 2026

Salary: £110 - £150 per day

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor with strong classroom and behaviour management skills?

Do you have excellent IT skills and the confidence to use technology effectively in a secondary school classroom?

Are you adaptable, reliable and able to confidently manage challenging behaviour while keeping students engaged with their learning?

The school is looking for an experienced Cover Supervisor for long-term placements, with flexible day-to-day work also available. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise classes across the secondary age range, deliver pre-planned work, confidently manage classroom behaviour and use their strong IT skills to support lesson delivery and ensure students remain focused and engaged.

Required Experience and Skills

• Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom-based role within a secondary school
• Proven experience managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Strong IT skills, including confidence using school systems, interactive whiteboards and digital learning resources
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach, with the ability to manage challenging situations confidently
