Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Wolverhampton is recruiting for Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools with daily and long-term bookings.

ASAP start for flexible, full- or part-time hours; you will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, and support pupils across subjects. You must meet safeguarding requirements and have Right to Work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Graduate Degree required.
• Experience as a Cover Supervisor or related role is desirable.
• Safeguarding training up-to-date or available via Prospero Teaching.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support students across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Ensure students remain on task and engaged with learning.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress, engagement, and behaviour.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Support the wider school community when required.

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for a range of positions, including long-term, short-term, and daily supply bookings across secondary schools in Tamworth and the surrounding areas.

Position: Cover Supervisor

Contract/Position Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Daily and Long-Term

Contract Type: Temporary

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP95-GBP135

Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Support students across a range of subjects and year groups
• Ensure students remain on task and engaged with learning
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress, engagement, and behaviour
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Support the wider school community when required

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Graduate Degree
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, or Youth Worker is highly desirable
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training is required. If you have not completed Safeguarding training within the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide this free of charge
• To Be Eligible for Any Role with Prospero Teaching, You Must:
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application
  • Be able to obtain references
