£28,128 - £29,057 FTE. (£18,855 - £19,478 pro rata)

The Cover Supervisor Role

As the
Cover Supervisor,

you will ensure continuity of learning by supervising students during pre-set English and Math sessions in the absence of the teacher. The role involves maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, supporting students with their tasks, and promoting engagement and progress.

Key Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor
  • Supervise students during scheduled English and Maths lessons when the teacher is absent.
  • Explain pre-prepared tasks clearly and respond to student queries.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, ensuring a safe and constructive learning environment.
  • Record and report attendance in line with College procedures.
  • Liaise with curriculum teams to understand lesson plans and resources.
  • Support students in using digital tools and learning technologies.
  • Provide pastoral support and small group interventions where required.
  • Administer and invigilate exams when necessary.
About You
  • Level 3 qualification as a minimum
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in education (preferably FE) Math or English
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal
