Job summary

Blythe Bridge High School in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join the team. You will supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher and help students stay focused on their learning.

Experience with children or young people is welcomed; an Enhanced DBS is required or able to apply. The role offers flexible hours and competitive daily rates.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS: Registered on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one.
• Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills.
• Adaptability: Ability to work confidently across different subjects and classroom environments.
• Attitude: A positive, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to supporting students' learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher.
• Ensuring students complete the work that has been set and remain focused on their learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting students with their work and providing guidance where appropriate.
• Reporting any concerns or issues to the relevant members of staff.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assisting with general classroom activities as required.

Salary: £82.62 - £95.43 per day (may be negotiable depending on experience)

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join the team at Blythe Bridge High School in Stoke-on-Trent. We welcome applications from experienced Cover Supervisors as well as individuals with transferable skills and experience, such as sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants, mentors, and community leaders.

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher.
