Job summary

Blythe Bridge High School in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking Cover Supervisors to support learning by supervising classes in the absence of teachers. The role welcomes applicants with experience in education-related or transferable roles, such as sports coaches or youth workers.

Successful candidates will hold an Enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply) and demonstrate strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills, with a proactive approach to student development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS: registered on Update Service or willing to apply for one.

Responsibilities

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: £82.62 - £95.43 per day (may be negotiable depending on experience)

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join the team at Blythe Bridge High School in Stoke-on-Trent. We welcome applications from experienced Cover Supervisors as well as individuals with transferable skills and experience, such as sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants, mentors, and community leaders.

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher.
• Ensuring students complete the work that has been set and remain focused on their learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting students with their work and providing guidance where appropriate.
• Reporting any concerns or issues to the relevant members of staff.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assisting with general classroom activities as required.

Requirements:

Experience: Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.

Enhanced DBS: Registered on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one.
