Job summary

Blythe Bridge High School in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join the team. You would supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher and help students stay on task, while maintaining a positive learning environment.

We welcome applications from experienced Cover Supervisors as well as individuals with transferable skills, such as sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants, mentors, and community leaders. Start date: as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
• Enhanced DBS: registered on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one.
• Strong communication, organisational and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to work confidently across different subjects and classroom environments.
• Positive and proactive approach with a commitment to supporting students' learning.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher.
• Ensuring students complete the work set and stay focused on learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting students with their work and providing guidance where appropriate.
• Reporting concerns to relevant staff and promoting safety and inclusivity.
• Assisting with general classroom activities as required.

Salary: £82.62 - £95.43 per day (may be negotiable depending on experience)

• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting students with their work and providing guidance where appropriate.
• Reporting any concerns or issues to the relevant members of staff.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assisting with general classroom activities as required.

Requirements
