Job summary

Aviva plc in Leeds and Bristol is seeking a Cost Negotiator to support the Costs team within DLG Legal Services. You’ll take ownership of cases from settlement through payment and closure, negotiating disputed costs and chasing outstanding payments while providing clear responses to insurers and clients.

The role requires strong communication, excellent organisation and attention to detail, plus solid numerical skills.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good administrative, organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise your workload from an administrative background.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• An adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Fixed Recoverable Costs or relevant legal processes would be useful, but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

Cost Negotiator – Salary circa £28.000

Leeds & Bristol

This could be a great opportunity if you’re organised, comfortable speaking with different people and keen to develop your experience within legal services.

A bit about the job:

You’ll join the Costs team within DLG Legal Services, helping recover costs, payments and other monies once a claim has settled. Taking ownership of your own cases, you’ll manage them from settlement through to payment and closure. Day to day, you’ll negotiate disputed costs, chase outstanding payments and respond to queries from insurers and clients. Accurate payment processing will also be part of your role, alongside taking appropriate action when payments remain outstanding. It’s a varied role where your organisation, communication and attention to detail will help move cases forward efficiently.

• Starting salary circa £28.000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
