Job description

An award-winning leading national law firm is seeking a Corporate Knowledge Lawyer/Senior Knowledge Lawyer to support its highly regarded corporate practice. This is a rare opportunity to join a top-tier team offering City-quality work outside London, with a genuine focus on work–life balance, technical excellence and innovation.

Why Apply?
  • High-quality corporate work including mid-market M&A within a top-ranked team
  • Sustainable career and work–life balance, with hybrid working as standard
  • Tech-forward and innovative environment, with real scope to shape best practice
  • Supportive, collaborative culture with clear long-term development opportunities

Based in the firm’s office in Surrey, this role will work closely with an established senior knowledge lawyer and report to the Head of the Corporate Practice Group. The focus is on supporting the corporate team across mainstream corporate transactions, with particular emphasis on mid-market M&A, corporate restructurings, governance and general advisory work.

The role is full-time, though four days per week will be considered, and the firm operates a flexible hybrid model, with lawyers encouraged to be in the office at least two days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting, updating and maintaining corporate precedents, templates and guidance
  • Monitoring legal and market developments and sharing insights across the team
  • Providing technical support, second opinions and practical guidance to fee earners
  • Designing and delivering engaging training for lawyers at all levels
  • Supporting trainees and new joiners with structured learning and development
  • Assisting with corporate research and directing junior lawyers to key resources
  • Supporting business development initiatives and client-facing training
  • Championing legal technology, AI and innovation within the corporate practice
  • Maintaining an effective know-how and knowledge repository
About the Candidate

This role would suit an established Corporate Knowledge Lawyer, or a technically strong corporate fee earner (3+ PQE) looking to transition into a first knowledge role. A particular interest in M&A is desirable, though a generalist corporate background is also welcomed. The firm is keen to speak with individuals who:

  • Are technically strong and commercially minded
  • Enjoy drafting, training and supporting others
  • Have an interest in legal technology, innovation and AI-enabled working
  • Communicate clearly and confidently at all levels
  • Value collaboration, culture and long-term career sustainability

This is a chance to play a central role in one of the strongest corporate teams in the South East, combining technical excellence, knowledge leadership and innovation within a genuinely supportive environment. In return, the firm offers flexible working, excellent benefits and the opportunity to build a rewarding, sustainable career within a top-ranked practice.
