Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Core Subjects Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and Science for learners across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. QTS or PGCE qualified educators will deliver sessions tailored to individual needs, fostering confidence and progress.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you will offer flexible hours and make a meaningful impact on young people through engaging tutoring.

Qualifications

• QTS or PGCE qualification is required.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (teaching, tutoring, learning support, mentoring, TA or similar).
• Strong knowledge of core subjects: English, Maths or Science.
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring across English, Maths and Science.
• Support learners with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs where applicable.
• Build confidence, engagement and independence in learning.
• Coordinate with Local Authorities to support learners in the BCP area.

We're looking for QTS or PGCE-qualified Tutors to support children and young people across the BCP area through tailored 1:1 tuition in English, Maths, and Science.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide personalised support to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to education and benefit from a flexible, individualised approach that helps them rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified educators who want the flexibility of tutoring while continuing to make a meaningful impact on young people's education.

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Requirements

• QTS or PGCE qualification
• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including teaching, tutoring, learning support, mentoring, teaching assistant, or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of one or more core subjects: English, Maths, or Science
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area
